Critics thinking has long been a goal of education yet survey a number of educators and you will receive a wide array of definitions for critical thinking. In this workshop, Garfield will introduce a framework developed through a synthesis of much of the best work in the field of critical thinking. The workshop will invite teachers to consider powerful ways they can "tweak" their questions and tasks to create rich thinking opportunities and "fortify" their teaching through the explicit teaching of intellectual tools that support thinking.
