Presented by: Suji De Hart and Thomas Graham | MAD Courses

MAD (Make A Difference) Courses’ partners with remarkable communities and social entrepreneurs around the world, giving them a voice and platform to tell their stories – which inspires and educates students worldwide.

A pioneer in innovative edtech, MAD uses interactive video technology so learners can explore global issues, making decisions on where to go, who to meet and what questions to ask. These adventures prompt greater reflection and engagement around the issues presented.

Presenters will give unique insights on how to integrate MAD’s stories & tools into different academic and non-academic curricula; impacting both students and local partners.

Participants can check out the newest interactive adventure, set in a remote province in the Philippines. The escape-room style module teaches you about interconnected issues that exacerbate the effects of the climate crisis on a local community.

Target audience

Middle school and high school educators, as well as curriculum coordinators.

Participants will find that different learning outcomes may stem from one adventure as it is designed to be multi-level, multi-use and multi-disciplinary.

The interactive adventures have been applied in classes for Science, Math, Geography, Social Science as well as extracurricular activities involving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Indigenous Peoples, Systems Thinking, Environment, Community Engagement, Global Citizenship and Service Learning.
