Presented by: Lynne Kulich and Lance Atchison / NWEA

Current research on the literacy crisis suggests educators need to rethink instructional and assessment practices. How should educators implement equitable practices to close reading gaps?

The presenters will highlight and model equitable reading practices and discuss the time-saving, innovative MAP Reading Fluency assessment from NWEA. Attendees will leave with evidence-based practices for reading instruction and information about how MAP Reading Fluency helps support equitable instructional practices. They will receive:

  • a set of instructional practices for each of the Big Five Reading Ideas,
  • the PPT, instructional practices handout, and MAP Reading Fluency brochures.

Attendees will also engage in collaborative activities and respond in real-time.
